Project Details
The Dhaka–Sylhet corridor (National Highway No. 2) is a key route connecting Dhaka to Sylhet, an economically significant city providing essential construction materials and facilitating sub-regional connectivity with India, Bhutan, Myanmar, and China via Tamabil Land Port. The existing 2-lane road has exceeded its capacity, causing congestion, unsafe conditions, and hindering its role as a vital economic and trade corridor. To address this, the Government of Bangladesh, with financial assistance from the Asian Development Bank (ADB), plans to upgrade the road to a 4-lane highway with service lanes to meet international and domestic transport demands.
